Construction of a table and bench

This sequence shows some of the basic steps needed to put together a standard rectangular table.  This table has a top of Oak and legs/rails of Tulipwood.  The sequence shows the table construction but as you will see from the final picture I made a matching bench with the same construction method.

Once design is complete there are three major stages:

1. Make components; from raw timber to exact dimensions.  First cut sanding and finishing.

2. Assemble components; align and glue up the separate components

3. Finishing; final sanding and apply the chosen finish
